For my final post, I’ve created a mind map based on all of my blog posts that explore the art of the Northwest Coast, Inuit, and Métis cultures. This project has deepened my appreciation for the diversity, meaning, and creativity within Indigenous art. I enjoyed learning about each art form in detail, the design principles, stories, and cultural connections behind the works and discovering the ways contemporary artists carry these traditions forward. Along the way, I found many useful resources, videos, and classroom ideas that I can bring into my teaching to help students engage respectfully and meaningfully with Indigenous art, making this learning both inspiring and something I can take with me into my future career as a teacher.
